The Responsibility of our Actions

You always feel compelled to explain your actions, as if you were the only person in the world who errors. This is your feeling of self importance at work. You have it in spades. And you also have too much personal history. On the other hand, you don’t assume responsibility for your actions, you’re not using your death as a counselor and, above all, you are far too accessible.

We must take the responsibility of being in such a fantastic world. For you, the world is fantastic because when you are not bored with it, you are angry with it. To me the world is fantastic because it is stupendous, astonishing, mysterious, and unfathomable; my interest has been to convince you to take the responsibility of being here in this wonderful world, this wonderful place, this wonderful time. I want to convince you that you should make your every act count, since your stay here will be brief. Much too short of a time to really witness all of these wonders.

What I recommend you to do is to note that we have no assurance that our lives will continue the way they are indefinitely. Change comes suddenly and unexpectedly, as does our death. And what exactly do you think we can do about it?!

There are those who are very careful with the nature of their actions. Their happiness is to act with full awareness that there is no time. Therefore, their actions have a special power, a meaning … Think of your death now. It is an arm’s length away. He can touch you at any time, so you do not really have time for decadant thoughts or moods.

None of us has time for them. When a man decides to do something, he must see it through to the end. But he has to take responsibility for what he does. No matter what it is, he must know why he is doing it, and then proceed in his actions without having doubts or remorse.

In a world where death is the hunter, my friend, there is no time for regrets or doubts. There is only time for decisions. To truly take responsibility for our decisions means that we are ready to die for them, whatever the decision may be. Nothing could be more or less serious than anything else. Don’t you see?
